Overview

A manufacturer of precision CNC machine tools serving the Fullerton, CA area is seeking a Swiss CNC Applications Engineer to support customers through the full lifecycle of turnkey machining projects. This role blends pre-sale technical consulting, hands-on demonstrations, and customer training to ensure clients get the most out of their CNC equipment investments.

What you'll do

• Lead turnkey projects and customer demonstrations from start to finish, keeping them on schedule and within budget
• Support pre-sale efforts by visiting customers, evaluating opportunities, assessing machines, and recommending part processing approaches and turnkey proposals
• Build and deliver custom demonstrations showcasing CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes, and multi-tasking machines
• Train customers on the safe setup and operation of these machine types
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, draft engineering reports, and interpret plans and specifications
• Travel to customer sites to provide on-site training and engineering support

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool engineering and manufacturing
• Strong, current knowledge of the machine tool industry and the relevant product lines
• Familiarity with Fanuc based controls
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and conversational programming
• Ability to think quickly, evaluate situations, and make sound decisions

Preferred qualifications

• 5-axis experience is a plus
