Swiss CNC Applications Engineer – CNC Machining

Overview
A manufacturer and distributor of precision machine tools is seeking a Swiss CNC Applications Engineer to support customers in the Philadelphia, PA area. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with customer-facing project leadership, guiding clients through machine evaluation, setup, and training to ensure successful adoption of CNC machining solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead turnkey projects and customer demonstrations from start to finish, keeping them on schedule and within budget
- Support pre-sale efforts, including customer site visits, opportunity evaluation, machine assessments, and part processing recommendations
- Build and deliver turnkey proposals based on customer needs
- Design and implement custom equipment demonstrations tailored to customer applications
- Train customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes, and multi-tasking machines
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and write clear engineering reports
- Interpret technical plans and specifications
- Travel to customer sites to provide on-site training and engineering support
Required qualifications
- Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool engineering and manufacturing
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the machine tool industry and relevant product lines
- Familiarity with Fanuc based controls
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and conversational programming
- Strong situational judgment with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure
Preferred qualifications
- 5-axis machining experience is a plus
