Research Scientist – Nutraceutical

Overview
A producer of nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products is seeking a Research Scientist to support its clinical development process. This role plays a key part in advancing ingredient research, ensuring compliance with clinical study protocols, and translating scientific findings into publications and patent materials that support the business.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with the clinical development team and project leaders on the design and execution of studies
- Manage and plan multiple clinical trial/study activities with appropriate direction, providing comprehensive support to scientists
- Prepare and ship clinical trial/study site documentation and maintain general correspondence with sites
- Work independently to assess compliance with study protocols by interacting with investigator sites or third-party contract facilities
- Verify study data using applicable data management tools and study monitoring processes to ensure data integrity and quality
- Facilitate site recruitment, site training, and study initiation, in-life, and close-out activities to ensure alignment with project objectives
- Collaborate across R&D and commercial teams as appropriate for the project and phase of development
- Research novel ingredients for product innovation
- Conduct statistical analysis, including producing tables and graphics for study reports
- Prepare scientific publications according to company needs
- Manage other job responsibilities and tasks as determined by the manager
- Attend scientific conferences relevant to project and business needs
- Travel up to 10% travel and perform other assigned duties as needed to meet company objectives
- Communicate effectively across departments and function within a team environment
Required qualifications
- Master's degree, preferably in science, biology, veterinary science, or a related life science field
- 4+ years of experience with a producer of nutraceutical or pharmaceutical products
- Experience in a clinical study related role
- Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
- Strong scientific writing ability
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable plans
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- 10% travel required
