Location: Waterloo, Iowa | Schedule: Full-time, on-site (1st, 2nd & 3rd shift openings) | Compensation: $75,000-$85,000

Overview

An established food manufacturing company is seeking a Production Supervisor to join its manufacturing team, supporting the Director of Operations and Production Manager. This role is central to keeping production running smoothly, safely, and to a high standard of quality while leading and developing shift staff.

What you'll do

• Complete the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries
• Communicate job expectations, and plan, monitor, and appraise staff results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; enforce systems, policies, and procedures
• Select, orient, and train employees, and support their personal growth and development
• Monitor workflow by tracking process steps, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, and monitoring personnel and resources
• Study methods and implement cost reductions; develop reporting procedures and systems
• Facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points and foster cooperation within and between departments
• Spend 50% of time engaged in direct labor within the area of responsibility
• Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions
• Act as quality inspector for the area of responsibility, establishing and enforcing quality standards
• Ensure all direct and indirect materials are readily available for production team members
• Compile, sort, and analyze production performance records and data; answer questions and respond to requests
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and generate results through others
• Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level
• Demonstrated commitment to quality
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have a strong customer orientation
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer skills with understanding of Microsoft products

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range of $75,000-$85,000
