Overview
An established, debt-free precision manufacturing company with decades of market success is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join its plant maintenance team. This direct-hire role offers a high-autonomy environment supporting a modern production floor with 45+ production presses, ideal for a technician who thrives on variety and takes pride in keeping equipment running reliably.
What you'll do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, safely isolating electrical faults up to 480V 3-phase networks
- Execute preventative maintenance routines across production equipment, including lubrication, thermocouple testing, and heating element optimization
- Rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic valves, replace relays and switches, and complete general facility upkeep projects
- Dismantle malfunctioning equipment using overhead cranes, hoists, and hand tools to repair internal components, then reassemble and verify operational efficiency
- Partner with plant management and engineering teams to manage assets, minimize downtime, and coordinate new equipment installations
- Document maintenance data accurately, tracking repair histories, spare part usage, and equipment diagnostics within facility systems
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or custom job-shop setting
- Hands-on ability to read electrical and fluid power schematics, and diagnose low-voltage sensors, SSR relays, 3-phase motors (AC/DC motors), hydraulic pumps, and basic PLC architectures
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot faults without close supervision, and think critically on the shop floor
- Strong attendance history, personal accountability, and a safety-first mindset
- Residency within comfortable commuting distance of the Two Rivers / Manitowoc / I-43 area
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience maintaining hydraulic injection molding presses, compression molding equipment, or thermoforming machinery
- Basic shop machining skills, including manual lathes, knee mills, surface grinders, or welding for quick fixture repairs
- Familiarity with PLC software (Allen-Bradley or Siemens) to trace I/O signals and isolate failed field inputs
