Associate Director of Product Management

Overview
An established manufacturing organization is seeking an Associate Director of Product Management to lead a portfolio of products focused on profitable growth, market share expansion, and long-term sustainability. This role will drive multi-year product strategy while partnering closely with R&D, operations, supply chain, quality, finance, marketing, sales, and contract manufacturing partners to ensure successful product development, launch, and lifecycle execution.
What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering continuous improvement
- Own product P&L management, ensuring financial performance aligns with business goals
- Develop multi-year product roadmaps to align cross-functional teams
- Manage lifecycle strategies including launch, growth, access, modification, and rationalization
- Lead new product development projects from Business Case through Audit stages in collaboration with innovation, operations, supply chain, finance, sales, and marketing
- Serve as the connector between R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, marketing, and sales from development through commercialization
- Support contract manufacturing management, coordinating with external partners on launches, capacity planning, quality standards, and cost control
- Identify and mitigate operational risks related to supply, production, and regulatory considerations
- Balance a portfolio of product initiatives across resources, timing, and risk exposure
- Design strategic launch plans to test product positioning, claims, and market acceptance
- Monitor innovation performance using key metrics such as product vitality
- Partner with channel management to execute product strategy and meet revenue objectives
- Collaborate with marketing management on product campaign development
- Develop strategies to manage channel conflicts and maximize market reach
- Engage with professional service veterinarians and key opinion leaders to build product credibility
- Develop and manage budgets to ensure optimal resource allocation
- Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned
- Communicate effectively across departments and function within a team environment
Required qualifications
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans
- Creative marketing skills to craft product experiences that resonate with target audiences
- Experience supporting or partnering in contract manufacturing management, including external supplier coordination and performance oversight
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex product initiatives from concept through commercialization
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and margin optimization
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and business growth
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Mix of technical product and commercial experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- 7+ years of marketing or sales experience
- 3+ years of product management or related experience
Preferred qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
