Overview
An established manufacturer is seeking an Account Manager for its Atlanta, GA area operations to serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts. This person will cultivate long-term customer relationships, drive commercial activities, and partner closely with internal teams to ensure customer programs are executed successfully. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly organized, and skilled at balancing customer needs with internal priorities, bringing strong account ownership and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations.
What you'll do
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally and represent the company externally to customers
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships
- Coordinate RFQ activity, quotation preparation, and pricing requests
- Work with internal departments to resolve quality, delivery, and commercial issues
- Lead account reviews, forecasting, and strategic account planning
- Track customer satisfaction and identify ways to improve account performance
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across the full product lifecycle
Required qualifications
- Account management experience within a manufacturing environment
- Automotive OEM, Tier 1, or Tier 2 supplier experience
- Experience owning RFQs, preparing quotations, and managing proposals
- Commercial experience including pricing, contract discussions, profitability reviews, and customer negotiations
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Manufacturing teams
- Experience managing customer issues, quality concerns, engineering changes, and ongoing account support
- Strong customer relationship management and communication skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and business reporting tools
- Experience conducting business reviews, forecasting, and account planning
- Some Travel required
