Swiss CNC Field Service Technician – CNC Machine Tools

Overview
A well-established manufacturer of precision machine tools is looking to add a Swiss CNC Field Service Technician to support customers throughout the Burlington, VT area and the greater New England region. In this role, you'll be the hands-on expert customers rely on to keep their precision machining equipment running smoothly, combining mechanical know-how with strong customer communication skills.
What you'll do
- Travel throughout New England to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools, controls, and related equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and spot opportunities to improve machine performance
- Diagnose and fix issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Reference technical manuals and coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve complex problems
- Keep customers informed on equipment status, completed repairs, and recommended next steps
- Complete service and installation reports accurately and on time
- Deliver on customer commitments with professionalism and technical precision
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers
- Participate in ongoing training and technical seminars to stay current on new technologies and product updates
- Build and sustain deep technical expertise across all equipment lines supported by the company
- Take on other duties as assigned
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from a technical school
- 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing CNC machinery
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including dial indicators and micrometers
- Hands-on experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings
- Solid understanding of CNC controls along with basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
- Advanced troubleshooting ability paired with strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software
- Valid driver's license required, with willingness to be a road warrior and travel up to 100% throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to stay composed and professional under pressure with both customers and colleagues
