Territory Manager-Ventura

Overview
A long-established, family-owned industrial distribution company is seeking a Territory Manager to serve customers directly through a fully stocked mobile store. This sales role supports a wide range of sectors, including transportation, aviation, facilities maintenance, aerospace, medical, military, marine, power generation, manufacturing, federal/local government, and heavy equipment industries, by bringing industrial hardware products straight to customer locations.
What you'll do
- Develop new sales prospects through research, referrals, and calling on businesses near existing customers
- Make face-to-face calls on cold and warm sales prospects within an assigned territory
- Present products and services using sample boards, product demonstrations, and the mobile store
- Maintain the cleanliness, operation, marketing, and functionality of the mobile store
- Submit complete and accurate daily business reports detailing sales orders and prospect calls
- Maintain customer contact information, including notes, names, phone numbers, and addresses, using company software
Required qualifications
- Must reside within the assigned territory (Ventura, CA); relocation is not available
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to purchase or lease an approved mobile store vehicle
- Clean driving history
- Physical ability to kneel and bend to the floor on a regular basis
- Strong tenured work background with no job hopping; ideally no more than 3 companies over the past 10 years
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, email, and common business applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and a proven history of goal attainment
Preferred qualifications
- Outside industrial sales experience, especially in route or industrial sales, is preferred
