Location: Baltimore, MD | Schedule: Full-time | Compensation: $120,000–$170,000 base salary, depending on qualifications and experience

Overview

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems to lead complex engineering projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and build client relationships across commercial, manufacturing, institutional, and government sectors. This role combines technical leadership with project management and business development responsibilities.

What you'll do

• Lead electrical power distribution and building systems design
• Manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and engineering teams
• Oversee technical drawings, specifications, and code assignments
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
• Support business development, client engagement, and proposal preparation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Strong background in power systems and electrical infrastructure design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM, ETAP, or similar software
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and applicable electrical codes
• Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience
• Strong communication, analytical, and client relationship skills

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or government projects
• Experience with lighting, telecommunications, and low-voltage systems
• Business development and technical proposal preparation experience

Compensation and benefits

• $120,000–$170,000 base salary, depending on qualifications and experience
