Overview
A world-leading robotics and factory automation OEM is seeking a Safety Specialist to join its team supporting projects in the Phoenix, AZ area. This role is central to maintaining a strong EHS culture during the installation and maintenance of specialized material handling and automation equipment at customer sites, balancing the safety priorities of both the company and its clients.
What you'll do
- Help develop, review, and update site-specific installation safety plans
- Keep safety plan documentation current and organized
- Build, roll out, and monitor health and safety policies, programs, and procedures
- Oversee Safety Department staff, including performance evaluation, training, coaching, and counseling
- Lead timely and thorough investigation and reporting of accidents/incidents involving employees, contractors, or visitors at company or customer locations, including preventive follow-up
- Maintain hazard-free working conditions across job sites
- Partner with contractors to assess safety performance and collaborate with leadership to strengthen the overall safety culture
- Confirm that safety inspections are conducted at every facility where company personnel are present
- Ensure all personnel complete required site-specific safety training, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections, and related safety procedures
- Coordinate health and safety testing or evaluations through external agencies and consultants as needed
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures
Required qualifications
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 90%, primarily domestic, with some international travel required
- Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record
- 1-2 years of experience working in safety
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), a technical discipline, or equivalent education preferred
- Experience working in safety with large-scale equipment preferred
- Previous experience administering, implementing, and developing environmental, safety, and health programs preferred
- Familiarity with automated material handling systems
- Understanding of electro/mechanical manufacturing equipment
- Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage multiple abstract and concrete variables
- Strong technical, financial, organizational, and analytical ability
