Electrical Department Head – Mission Critical

Overview
An independently owned MEP engineering firm with offices nationwide and decades of experience in mission critical design is seeking an Electrical Department Head to lead its electrical team in Boston. This firm works with some of the biggest names in the data center space, and this role offers the chance to step into a leadership seat that combines deep technical expertise with people and project management.
What you'll do
- Lead the electrical department and its engineers
- Run electrical design on large data centers, coordinating with the client and the mechanical and site teams
- Design medium voltage distribution systems: transformers, switchgear, breakers, cabling
- Develop protection and control schemes, including relay settings and relaying diagrams
- Serve as engineer of record and mentor newer engineers
Required qualifications
- 15 or more years designing electrical systems for high performance facilities, including hands-on data center and mission critical work
- PE required
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM
- Experience with medium voltage distribution and protection and control schemes (SEL or Basler)
Preferred qualifications
- LEED accreditation is a plus
