Overview
A prominent large law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Hartford office supporting its commercial litigation practice. This is an opportunity for a junior associate to develop a broad-based litigation practice in a collaborative, high-performance environment, with hands-on experience in state and federal courts and direct client interaction.
What you'll do
- Handle sophisticated commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts across Connecticut
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials and other litigation-related documents
- Participate in depositions, hearings, and court proceedings as experience allows
- Conduct legal research and support case strategy development
- Support all phases of case management, including strategy development and trial preparation
- Work closely with senior litigators on complex disputes with high-profile clients
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in Connecticut, in good standing
- 1-3 years of substantive commercial litigation experience
- Experience handling litigation matters in state and federal courts within a law firm setting
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to client service, professionalism, and high-quality work product
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to employment law–related issues is a plus, but not required
- Judicial clerkship experience is valued, though not mandatory
Compensation and benefits
- Expected annual salary range of $145,000-$155,000, as determined by experience and market factors
