Overview

A leading global manufacturer of sensor technologies, backed by a multi-billion-dollar parent organization, is seeking a Director / Manager of Development Engineering for sensors to lead the growth of its sensor product line. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing engineering teams across the U.S. and globally, shaping both technical direction and business development for sensor products used across automotive, commercial vehicle, off road, industrial, and adjacent markets.

What you'll do

• Lead the development of sensor products for U.S. and global markets
• Oversee the creation of electronic-based products incorporating embedded microcontrollers, sensors, and firmware
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams spanning electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines
• Manage engineering groups both in the U.S. and globally
• Engage in business development activities and maintain direct customer contact related to sensor products

Required qualifications

• Experience as a Director / Manager of Development Engineering within sensors
• Diverse application experience across sensors for automotive, commercial vehicle, off road, industrial, or adjacent markets
• Proven experience managing engineering groups across both U.S. and global teams
• Strong understanding of business development for sensors and direct customer contact
• Must reside within a 100 mile radius of Chicago or Milwaukee, or be willing to relocate
• Willingness to report to the office 3 days a week
