Overview
A long-established, stable precision manufacturer experiencing significant growth is adding a Multi-Spindle Machine Operator to its machining operations. This role is part of a broader expansion effort creating opportunities for machinists at multiple skill levels, schedules, and areas of expertise.
What you'll do
- Set up and operate single- and multi-spindle machining equipment
- Machine precision components from metal bar stock
- Read blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions
- Install and adjust collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and tooling
- Set or adjust speeds, feeds, and machine controls
- Inspect first pieces and production parts to specifications
- Replace and maintain cutting tools
- Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to keep production running safely and effectively
Required qualifications
- Experience operating or setting up multi-spindle lathes, automatic screw machines, or similar high-volume bar-stock machining equipment
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around machining equipment
- Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule (Mon-Wed 3:50pm - 3:05am, Thurs 3:50pm-10:05pm, with paid lunch)
Preferred qualifications
- Previous multi-spindle or automatic screw machine experience is especially valuable
- Related machining and manufacturing experience, including CNC, may also be relevant
- Interest in developing skills and taking on greater responsibility as the operation grows
