Overview
A professional services organization is seeking an HR Business Partner to support its Pittsburgh office. This role serves as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, driving talent, engagement, and compliance initiatives that keep the firm running smoothly and its people supported.
What you'll do
- Support onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a seamless new hire experience
- Facilitate new employee integration and retention strategies
- Partner with leadership and resource management to identify hiring needs
- Support the Campus Recruiting Lead with local campus events, as needed
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters
- Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and promote a positive work environment
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and PIPs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Manage investigations and employee separations with discretion and professionalism
- Maintain accurate records in HRIS and generate reports
- Support inclusion and employee engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to identify training needs
- Promote firm-wide programs and events in partnership with other offices
- Collaborate with cross-functional HR functions including recruiting, total rewards, resource management, and learning and development
- Provide insights from HR data to inform business decisions
- Support organizational change and workforce planning initiatives
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- 2+ years of HR generalist experience
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency in HCM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Preferred qualifications
- HR generalist experience in a professional services setting (Law, Engineering, Finance, Accounting)
- Workday experience preferred for HCM/HRIS systems
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Compensation and benefits
- Salary range: $70,000–$80,000 + Bonus
