Overview

Our client is a major, long-established player in the agricultural equipment manufacturing industry, a multinational organization with thousands of employees and production booked out a full year in advance. They are seeking a self-starting Warehouse Supervisor to lead the team responsible for the operation of the headquarters' warehouses, controlling and directing the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. This role is central to optimizing safe, timely, and cost-effective product flow through the facility.

What you'll do

  • Supervise a team of 10 warehouse associates in the effective operation of the warehouses
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve supply chain strategies and performance goals consistent with corporate objectives
  • Develop and implement long- and short-range strategies and operating methods to achieve objectives; update and evaluate weekly KPIs
  • Maintain accountability for all controlled inventory and finished goods shipping and warehouse duties
  • Ensure quality assurance, inventory accuracy, and timely transactions for inbound and outbound products; collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality issues prior to shipping
  • Control inventory accuracy through physical cycle counts, reconcile with the data storage system, and determine root causes of inaccuracies to expedite corrective action
  • Ensure shipping/warehousing facilities operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Oversee equipment requirements and maintenance programs for shipping/warehousing operations (including large and small forklifts, cranes, etc.) and develop proposals for capital expenditures and expense budgets
  • Oversee safe operation of a large, specialty forklift for special project requests outside the standard shipping function
  • Meet periodic shipping volume objectives and immediately report any exceptions
  • Ensure all products received or shipped meet company quality standards for packaging and completeness
  • Serve as the go-to expert on the warehouse management system and shipping processes, including supporting computer programs, and perform daily validations within these programs

Required qualifications

  • Solid warehouse operations experience within a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years of prior warehouse leadership experience
  • Knowledge of a warehouse management system (the organization will be transitioning to SAP within a couple of years)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Relevant academic experience is a plus, though hands-on work experience is considered paramount
