Overview
A leading financial services company and premier provider of title insurance and real estate transaction services is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to expand its presence across the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a high-impact, business-development-focused role for an attorney who thrives on relationship-building, enjoys autonomy, and wants to leverage legal credibility to drive commercial real estate transactions with law firms and lenders.
What you'll do
- Serve as a direct point of contact for clients regarding commercial real estate transactional matters
- Promote and sell national commercial real estate transaction services
- Conduct market research to compile targeted lead lists and execute structured outreach plans
- Develop and maintain a commercial client base by identifying and securing new business while strengthening existing client relationships
- Engage with law firm clients and real estate agents, brokers, and lenders through calls, in-person meetings, and virtual presentations
- Assess individual client needs and objectives to deliver tailored presentations
- Maintain strong visibility in the San Francisco Bay Area commercial real estate market by attending networking events and industry functions
- Collaborate with internal underwriting and escrow teams to deliver seamless client service
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active member of the California Bar, in good standing
- 3–4 years of substantive experience
- Experience as a billing, originations, relationship attorney, or in a role requiring active client development
- Demonstrated business development or sales aptitude with a client-facing mindset
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, including federal and state title insurance regulations
- Experience with sales database systems (Salesforce or similar) and social media as tools to manage and expand client relationships
- High energy, persistence, and accountability for results
- Professional in all aspects (appearance, demeanor, presentation, etc.)
- Deep understanding of the sales cycle and a drive for achieving revenue targets
- Strong ability to adapt strategy to changing market conditions
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with clients at all levels, in-person and virtually
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex real estate transactions
- Valid driver's license required for territory travel
- Strong credibility with attorney peers and senior decision-makers
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Comfortable collaborating closely with underwriting and escrow professionals
- Excellent networking, communication, and follow-up skills
- Motivated by results, accountability, and uncapped earning potential
Preferred qualifications
- Commercial real estate or commercial lending experience strongly preferred
- Existing relationships within the legal or lending community are a plus
- Familiarity with the title insurance industry strongly preferred
Compensation and benefits
- Annual base salary of $100,000-$150,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and market factors
