Location: Ticonderoga, New York | Schedule: Full-Time, on-site | Compensation: $40.00–$60.00 per hour

Overview

A respected skilled nursing facility in Ticonderoga, New York is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join its rehabilitation team on a direct hire, permanent basis. This role is open to both experienced clinicians and new graduates, and travelers are welcome to apply. The therapist will play a key part in supporting residents' independence, functional ability, and overall quality of life.

What you'll do

• Initiate skilled occupational therapy treatments in accordance with physician orders and maintain required physician communication
• Complete and maintain written evaluations, progress notes, MDS documentation, and discharge summaries
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to address residents' rehabilitation and functional maintenance needs
• Participate in Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy when needed
• Maintain statistical records of resident treatments and therapy outcomes
• Assist with in-service education and training programs upon request
• Record, update, and monitor resident care plans
• Support residents in achieving their highest level of independence and functional ability

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Current state Occupational Therapy license
• Ability to supervise and direct others when necessary
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and staff
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to work effectively with geriatric and chronically ill residents
• Commitment to maintaining established standards of clinical excellence

Preferred qualifications

• Two years of occupational therapy experience preferred
• Interest in working with geriatric and subacute populations using a team-based approach
• New Occupational Therapy program graduates encouraged to apply

Compensation and benefits

• Occupational Therapist pay range: $40.00–$60.00 per hour (earn more with experience)
