Location: Charles City, Iowa | Schedule: Full-time, on-site | Compensation: $35-40/hour (approximately $35,000-$40,000 annually based on standard full-time hours)

Overview

An established manufacturing plant is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep its production operations running smoothly. This role is central to plant reliability, covering the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of production machinery, along with special maintenance projects.

What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot manual and CNC equipment to identify problems and perform repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment per work order instructions
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair work on plant equipment and CNCs
  • Work with voltage of 240v-480v
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot motor controls on 3-phase equipment and control circuits
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine malfunctions and mechanical problems
  • Read and interpret schematics
  • Design and implement needed controls for new or refurbished projects
  • Help initiate equipment procedures when updates have been instigated
  • Repair equipment by removing defective parts, replacing with new or usable parts, and testing for adequate repair
  • Identify parts needed for repair and obtain quotes to purchase parts
  • Relocate machinery when needed
  • Make repairs to various plant units such as heating, cooling, and test equipment
  • Assist in other areas of maintenance as needed
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding junior team members or coordinating with external contractors

Required qualifications

  • 2- 4 years vocational training or a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a related maintenance field
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, blueprints, correspondence, and memos
  • Prior maintenance troubleshooting experience with production equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controls
  • Ability to work with voltage of 240v-480v
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting motor controls on 3-phase equipment

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
