Overview

A long-term care skilled nursing facility in the Finger Lakes region of New York is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead its Special Needs Unit. What you'll do

• Ensure effective communication with staff, patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team
• Apply management systems and processes to build effective work relationships and lead staff toward organizational objectives
• Assess departmental needs, develop and implement interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness
• Facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
• Maintain familiarity with DOH requirements
• Implement strategies to achieve quality care, patient safety, and an outstanding patient/resident/family experience
• Create an environment that fosters staff development, empowerment, and collegial relationships
• Allocate resources to promote efficient, effective, compassionate, and fiscally responsible nursing care
• Coordinate care across departments through interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
• Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel
• Ensure appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for staff
• Supervise CNA Trainees, CNAs, Senior CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks
• Provide age-appropriate, population-specific care tailored to each resident's needs

Required qualifications

• At least 2 years recent manager experience in a Long Term Care facility
• Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program
• Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse
• Two years of Nursing experience or Two years of Long Term Care experience
• Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Special Needs Unit preferred
• Supervisor or Management experience a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Meditech preferred

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range $85,000.00-100,000.00, based on experience
