Location: Rice Lake, WI | Schedule: Full-time, field-based

Overview

An established distributor of CNC machine tools is looking for a Field Service Technician to serve customers in and around Rice Lake, WI. This role is central to keeping customers' CNC equipment running at peak performance through hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and repair work across the surrounding region.

What you'll do

• Travel throughout MN, WI, SD, ND and surrounding areas to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools, controls, and related equipment
• Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and spot opportunities to improve equipment performance
• Reference manuals, technical documentation, and internal or vendor support to work through complex problems
• Keep customers clearly informed on equipment status, completed repairs, and recommendations
• Complete and submit accurate service and installation reports
• Deliver on customer commitments with professionalism and technical excellence
• Cultivate strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers
• Keep current on new technologies and product updates via training and technical seminars
• Build and maintain deep technical knowledge of the full equipment lineup represented by the company
• Take on other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience repairing or maintaining CNC machinery
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings
• Solid grasp of CNC controls along with basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
• Advanced troubleshooting ability with strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software
• Valid driver's license required, with readiness to travel up to 25% throughout the assigned territory
• Ability to stay composed and professional under pressure with customers and colleagues
