Location: Penn Yan, NY | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, day shift | Compensation: $99,300.00-$115,150.00

Overview

A skilled nursing and long-term care facility in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, part of a collaborative healthcare system committed to high-quality, resident-centered care, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical and operational excellence. Reporting to the LTC Director of Nursing, this role holds 24-hour accountability for the facility and plays a key part in ensuring nursing competency, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.

What you'll do

• Oversee the facility's Performance Improvement Program, ensuring care delivery meets regulatory standards and organizational values; participate in the LTC divisional Performance Improvement Committee
• Provide oversight of the PRI and MDS processes to maximize reimbursement and support financial sustainability
• Represent the Nursing Department on the LTC Safety Committee and coordinate employee safety initiatives
• Coordinate and oversee the LTC attendance procedure process
• Provide daily supervisory oversight of nursing staff and clinical operations
• Assume Nurse Manager responsibilities in the absence of another Nurse Manager
• Participate in the recruitment and interview process for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) candidates

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Professional Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license
• Four (4) years of managerial experience and two (2) years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a Long-Term Care setting
• Knowledge and application of New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations, including successful experience with the survey process
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with medical staff, department leaders, residents, families, and the public in a resident- and family-centered environment
• Ability to function effectively in high-stress or challenging situations
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software

Preferred qualifications

• Masters of Science in Nursing
• Prior experience at the Assistant Director of Nursing level
• PRI and MDS knowledge and/or experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range: $99,300.00-$115,150.00, based on years of leadership experience in LTC
