Location: Raleigh, NC | Schedule: Full-time, on-site with field travel | Compensation: $90K – $120K base plus 10% bonus

Overview

A global leader in power and thermal management solutions is seeking a Field Application Engineer to support the successful deployment of its power electronics and thermal management products. This role blends deep technical expertise with commercial judgment, serving as the on-site technical champion for key accounts and partners while collaborating closely with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and global R&D teams.

What you'll do

• Provide technical and project leadership for named key accounts, acting as the factory liaison
• Deliver pre-sales applications support to expand adoption at strategic customers
• Serve as the go-to technical expert, testing new product introductions and validating performance
• Partner with R&D to close the loop on product issues, bugs, or improvement opportunities
• Support sales through training, product launches, technical documentation, and industry trade shows
• Develop customer-facing materials such as application notes, presentations, and success stories
• Deliver design-in support, post-sales troubleshooting, and customer training on-site

Required qualifications

• B.S.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline
• 5+ years' related product or field application experience in power electronic products
• Hands-on expertise with power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters, chargers, motor drives)
• Familiarity with thermal solutions (axial fans, EC fans, liquid cooling, solenoids, pumps)
• Proven ability to translate customer needs into solutions and champion them internally
• Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Market familiarity with industries such as industrial logistics, energy, agriculture, medical, lighting, automation, food & beverage, off-road vehicles, CNC machines, packaging, and oil & gas
• Willingness to travel 20–30%
• US Citizen or Green Card holder (visa sponsorship not available)

Preferred qualifications

• Mandarin/Chinese language skills a plus

• Salary range: $90K – $120K plus 10% bonus
