Overview

An established, growing manufacturing company in the Fort Atkinson, WI area is seeking a 2nd Shift Lead Maintenance Technician to take ownership of maintenance operations in a clean, sanitary production facility. This direct-hire role offers a stable, long-term career opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical and fluid power expertise, inside a facility known for its safety culture and long employee tenures.

What you'll do

  • Execute complex electro-mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a highly automated production floor during the 2nd shift
  • Maintain and rebuild fluid power systems, including hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, and pneumatic circuits, as part of an active preventive maintenance program
  • Level sanitary conveyors and fine-tune automated sorting and packaging machinery to eliminate line bottlenecks
  • Rapidly diagnose and isolate multi-variant electro-mechanical faults to minimize downtime and maintain safe production throughput
  • Perform structural welding and custom shop repairs, modifying equipment frameworks and fabricating custom fixtures for line enhancements
  • Maintain strict compliance with FDA, GMP, and SQF sanitary standards while logging work orders and PM tasks in the plant CMMS

Required qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) required
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in regulated FDA, GMP, or SQF environments
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and rebuilding hydraulics, pneumatics, multi-axis drives, and high-speed packaging machinery
  • Proven ability to perform structural welding, equipment modification, and custom shop fabrication
  • Strong electro-mechanical fault-tracing skills to systematically identify and resolve root-cause line issues
  • Full, long-term commitment to a dedicated 2nd shift schedule, with a stable employment record and strong tenure

Preferred qualifications

  • Basic ladder logic troubleshooting capabilities with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
  • Hands-on experience operating manual lathes, mills, or precision shop tools for custom part modification
  • Familiarity with CMMS work order tracking platforms such as Fiix, MP2, or SAP Maintenance

Compensation and benefits

  • Baseline starting rate up to $34.00/hr (approximately $34,000+ annually before overtime)
  • Daily time-and-a-half (1.5x) after 8 hours
  • Automatic double-time (2.0x) pay on Sundays
