Location: East Hanover, NJ | Schedule: Full-time, on-site (Field Service) | Compensation: $65K - $85K base, plus overtime ($10K - $20K annually) and company vehicle

Overview

An established company with a long-standing reputation for designing, installing, and servicing control systems and electronic drives is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its regional service team. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting clients in the East Hanover, New Jersey area, and requires a technician comfortable working independently in the field.

What you'll do

• Provide field service support for CNC and electronic control systems, including panel wiring, PLCs, HMI, motor drives, and variable frequency drives
• Troubleshoot electronics to the component level and diagnose control systems and electronic drives on-site at customer locations
• Work as part of a regional service team, often with minimal supervision
• Operate a company-provided vehicle to travel to client sites within the local area

Required qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to communicate clearly in English
• Must reside within commuting distance of East Hanover, New Jersey (local NJ/NYC area candidates only)
• Good driving record required (company vehicle provided)
• Experience with PLCs and Motor Controls
• Field Service experience
• 18 month technical certification or Associate's Degree
• Knowledge/experience with Panel Wiring, PLCs, HMI, Motor Drives, Control Systems, Variable Frequency Drives, and related equipment
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
• Must be able to read schematics and pass a company assessment demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot electronics to the component level

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with the ability to troubleshoot electronics to the component level is a plus

Compensation and benefits

• Starting base salary in the $65K - $85K range, depending on experience
• Overtime opportunities that can add an additional $10K - $20K annually
