Location: Topeka, KS | Schedule: Full-time, on-site
Overview
A construction organization is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on active project sites. This role is central to ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, working in close partnership with the Project Manager throughout all phases of construction.
What you'll do
- Maintain and document daily field reports, two-week look-ahead schedules, and safety reports in accordance with company standards
- Develop a thorough understanding of project drawings, specifications, scope of work, and site conditions
- Oversee and coordinate internal and external construction crews throughout the project
- Monitor the project schedule and communicate progress, potential delays, and key developments to Project Managers and ownership
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the project is completed within established schedule and budget requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accelerate the project schedule when possible
- Serve as the primary field liaison with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and other companies providing materials or services
- Ensure all workers receive appropriate training and have the required personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform their work safely
- Support the Project Manager in meeting or exceeding owner expectations and maintaining strong client relationships
Required qualifications
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to the Topeka, KS area
- Willingness to work at a single primary job site location
Preferred qualifications
- Strong familiarity with the Topeka, Kansas construction market is preferred
