Overview
An established precision manufacturer serving the aerospace industry in the Bay Shore, NY area is looking for a skilled CNC Programmer to join its production team. This company invests in advanced technology, continuous improvement, and employee growth, and this role is central to keeping precision machining programs accurate, efficient, and production-ready.
What you'll do
- Develop machining methods and tooling strategies for new and existing parts
- Create and optimize CNC programs for milling operations
- Program custom components and tooling used in production applications
- Set up and support CNC milling machines during live production runs
- Test, troubleshoot, and validate programs directly on the shop floor
- Update programs to reflect engineering changes and product revisions
- Work alongside Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to improve machining efficiency
- Keep programming documentation current and maintain revision control
- Drive process improvements aimed at reducing cycle times and boosting quality
- Confirm every program satisfies safety, quality, and customer specifications
Required qualifications
- Associate's Degree preferred in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology
- Minimum 5 years of CNC Programming experience
- Hands-on experience programming CNC milling machines
- Proficiency with CAD software and CNC programming tools
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred qualifications
- CATIA experience
- Epicor ERP experience
- Background in aerospace manufacturing
- Experience with complex, precision-machined components
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
