Overview

A mid-sized geotechnical engineering firm offering company stock ownership is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to grow into a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager role. This position is central to ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects throughout the Charlotte, NC area through rigorous field testing and inspection.

What you'll do

• Serve as Project Manager of CMT operations on construction projects in the Charlotte area
• Manage assignments involving a wide variety of expertise in concrete, soil, and asphalt materials testing programs and investigations
• Apply knowledge of masonry and asphalt laboratory testing procedures
• Assist project managers, technicians, and engineers with assignments
• Perform field testing and inspection of concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials and mix designs according to ASTM procedures

Required qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• NC EIT or PE License required
• 2-8+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing
• Quick learner, hard worker, persistent, and energetic
• Able to get along well with others
• Good organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Good leadership skills
• Willingness to perform significant field inspection and testing work (not a desk job)
