Overview

A respected Cleveland law office is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to support its attorneys. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who understands Ohio workers' compensation procedures and can independently manage claims, filings, and deadlines.

What you'll do

• Prepare workers' compensation claims for administrative hearings
• Draft pleadings, claim summaries, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Request, organize, and review medical records
• Coordinate independent medical examinations and prepare summary correspondence
• Monitor case activity, filing requirements, and critical deadlines
• Submit documents electronically to courts and administrative agencies
• Proofread filings for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules
• Assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, medical providers, and outside parties
• Identify potential issues and escalate them appropriately

Required qualifications

• At least 3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or other legal setting
• Working knowledge of Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and Industrial Commission of Ohio procedures
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent writing, proofreading, analytical, and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities and complete time-sensitive assignments
• Sound judgment and a proactive approach to attorney support

Preferred qualifications

• Paralegal certificate, related degree, or bachelor's degree preferred
