Overview

A home décor company is seeking a Textile Designer with rug expertise to join its product development team. This role focuses on the design and creation of hand woven and machine-made rugs, blending trend research, color direction, and product development to shape the rug category. It's an opportunity to play a key role in bringing new rug designs to market from concept through production.

What you'll do

• Meet with sales teams and customers to review ongoing projects and new development opportunities
• Prepare design presentations and other materials as needed for meetings
• Stay current on home décor and rug industry color, design, and sales trends
• Communicate directly with overseas manufacturers to support design and product development for new products and categories
• Work proactively against the development calendar to maintain timelines and drive products through the approval process

Required qualifications

• Experience as a Textile Designer with a focus on rugs
• Hands-on experience designing hand woven and/or machine-made rugs
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with in-office days Tuesday through Thursday
