Overview

A stable, growing automotive supplier with a modern manufacturing facility located near St Joseph, MI is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to serve as a strategic finance partner to plant leadership. This high-visibility role was created due to an internal promotion and offers the chance to directly influence plant profitability and operational efficiency.

What you'll do

• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Plant Manager and operations leadership, delivering data-driven analysis, recommendations, and KPI tracking to improve plant efficiency and profitability
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning, including variance analyses against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance
• Oversee standard costing, usage variances, scrap reporting, and PPV; partner cross-functionally on continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction and cost savings
• Support cost center managers with labor and operational financial insights, analyzing variance trends to help optimize headcount, productivity, and resource allocation
• Assist with month-end close activities, analyzing income statement and balance sheet results, evaluating trends and risks, and delivering weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting packages
• Spend time on the plant floor with operations management to identify real-time financial improvement opportunities
• Work on site Monday-Friday with only minimal travel required

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a business-related field
• At least 3-5 years in a similar manufacturing financial or accounting analysis role
• Experience with forecasting and budgeting
• Experience supporting month-end closing functions
• Strong background in financial analysis
• Financial reporting experience
• Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work on site Monday-Friday with minimal travel

• Cost accounting experience
• Automotive supplier experience
• Local candidates preferred to the St Joseph, MI area
