Overview
An established automotive component manufacturer with international operations is seeking a Sensor Development Engineer to lead the development of speed and position sensing products. This is a technical leadership role, guiding programs from concept through production launch and ensuring sensing solutions meet performance, quality, timing, and business objectives.
What you'll do
- Serve as the technical leader for assigned sensor development programs
- Translate customer requirements into robust sensing solutions
- Integrate magnetic design, sensor electronics, materials, mechanical packaging, validation, and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective products
- Own product development from concept through production launch
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following sensing technologies: Variable Reluctance (VR) sensors, Hall-effect sensors, Magnetoresistive (MR) sensors, Rotary position sensors, Linear position sensor
- Understanding of electromagnetic and magnetic circuit design principles
- Experience owning a product from concept through production launch (not a design-only role)
- Knowledge of automotive product development processes, including APQP, DFMEA, PPAP
