Overview
An established company selling large, project-based solutions into education, municipal, parks and recreation, and sports facility markets is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead its outside sales efforts across Texas. This player-coach role is central to driving growth on complex, six-figure capital projects that involve multiple decision makers and extended sales cycles.
What you'll do
- Lead, coach and develop a five-person outside sales team across Texas
- Travel throughout the state for customer meetings, field coaching and strategic sales opportunities
- Participate directly in presentations, proposal development, contract negotiations and closing six-figure capital projects
- Develop regional and territory strategies that increase sales and strengthen key accounts
- Help the team navigate complex buying processes involving administrators, facility leaders, architects, contractors, purchasing departments and other decision makers
- Partner with Inside Sales and Operations to ensure projects are positioned, sold and delivered successfully
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events and trade shows
- Drive continued growth across education, municipal, parks and recreation and sports facility markets
Required qualifications
- Successful experience leading outside sales teams selling capital projects, construction-related products or other complex project-based solutions
- Direct involvement in presentations, proposals, negotiations and closing six-figure projects
- Experience managing sales cycles of 3–12 months involving multiple stakeholders and decision makers
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to coach salespeople in the field and assist with strategic opportunities
- Strong presentation, negotiation, relationship-building and closing skills
- Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Texas
- Must currently reside in the United States and be authorized to work without current or future sponsorship
- Field-based position requiring residence in Texas, preferably within a major metro area
Preferred qualifications
- Experience selling into K-12 schools, higher education, municipalities, parks and recreation departments, athletic facilities or sports venues strongly preferred
- Houston is the preferred location
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary of $100,000–$170,000 based on experience
- Additional bonus and performance incentives
