Overview
A well-established Southeastern law firm is seeking an ambitious Associate Attorney to join its Real Estate & Commercial Development Practice Group in Atlanta or Charlotte. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled transactional attorney to handle a broad range of commercial real estate matters, working alongside experienced professionals on high-profile deals from conception to closing.
What you'll do
- Represent clients in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, easements, restrictive covenants, joint venture documents, and loan agreements
- Provide counsel on development projects, land use, zoning, and entitlement issues
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups, including tax, corporate finance, construction, and environmental, to support all aspects of client transactions
- Advise developers, investors, lenders, landlords, and tenants on strategies to structure, negotiate, and close real estate deals efficiently
- Support clients with real estate portfolio restructuring and joint venture formations
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
- 5+ years of substantive commercial real estate experience in a sophisticated law firm setting
- Experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, development, financing, leasing, and dispositions
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex purchase and sale agreements, easements, declarations of restrictive covenants, and loan documents for construction and permanent financing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver high-quality client service
Compensation and benefits
- Expected base salary range of $190,000-$310,000, determined by experience and market factors
