Overview

A well established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the Nassau County, NY area is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join its clinical team, delivering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population across two locations.

What you'll do

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of conditions in a general practice setting
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging
  • Prescribe medications, administer treatments, and provide immunizations
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed and coordinate follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation, including appropriate coding
  • Participate in peer reviews, clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and billing practices
  • Participate in on-call and emergency coverage as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

  • Holds a Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited school
  • Currently licensed and registered as a physician with New York State
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics or Family Medicine
  • Experience serving both school-age and adult populations
  • Ability to travel between 2 locations
  • A passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Preferred qualifications

  • Preferably enrolled in Medicaid

Compensation and benefits

  • Compensation of $208K-$223K pr/yr
  • Retirement: 403(b) with 3% matching
