Overview
A well established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the Nassau County, NY area is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join its clinical team, delivering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population across two locations.
What you'll do
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of conditions in a general practice setting
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging
- Prescribe medications, administer treatments, and provide immunizations
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices
- Refer patients to specialists as needed and coordinate follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation, including appropriate coding
- Participate in peer reviews, clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and billing practices
- Participate in on-call and emergency coverage as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required qualifications
- Holds a Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited school
- Currently licensed and registered as a physician with New York State
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics or Family Medicine
- Experience serving both school-age and adult populations
- Ability to travel between 2 locations
- A passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Preferred qualifications
- Preferably enrolled in Medicaid
Compensation and benefits
- Compensation of $208K-$223K pr/yr
- Retirement: 403(b) with 3% matching
