Overview
An established manufacturing operation is seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions at its facility. This role is central to shaping a positive, compliant, and well-organized workplace, delivering integrated HR services across organization design, talent management, employee relations, and change management for both hourly production and salaried staff.
What you'll do
- Acclimate employees to plant policies, procedures, regulations, safety rules, and benefits
- Ensure employees fully understand the conditions and benefits of their employment
- Maintain accurate employee records, including for inactive employees, in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, affirmative action reporting, and other required reports
- Develop and write policies and procedures affecting both hourly production and salaried staff
- Coordinate pre-employment drug screening and valid testing for prospective employees prior to extending employment offers
- Lead new employee orientation
- Monitor personnel transactions such as layoffs, recalls, and permanent transfers to ensure compliance with company and plant policies
- Administer the benefits program daily, including handling employee inquiries, resolving problems, and compiling data
- Coordinate with other managers and supervisors to ensure effective implementation of HR department policies
- Follow safety regulations and enforce compliance with company safety rules and regulations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) required
- Extensive manufacturing HR leadership experience
- Proficient communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Task-oriented with exceptional people skills and reliability
- Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
- Ability to motivate a team environment, help drive results, and delegate authority to subordinate personnel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse audience, including customers, suppliers, and employees
