Overview

Our client is a well-established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm dedicated to representing individuals injured due to the negligence of others. The litigation team is committed to delivering exceptional client service and achieving favorable outcomes through strategic advocacy, thorough case preparation, and attention to detail. This firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling active personal injury litigation in Michigan courts, playing a key role in ensuring cases move forward smoothly and deadlines are met.

What you'll do

• Provide administrative and litigation support throughout the life of personal injury cases
• Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Prepare and electronically file documents using Michigan court e-filing systems
• Monitor litigation deadlines, scheduling orders, statutes of limitation, and court calendars
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, facilitations, case evaluations, and court appearances
• Assist with all phases of discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests to admit, subpoenas, and medical record subpoenas
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, experts, and court personnel
• Organize and maintain medical records, exhibits, pleadings, and litigation files
• Prepare litigation binders, deposition materials, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks
• Assist attorneys with mediation, facilitation, case evaluation, and trial preparation

Required qualifications

• Previous experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant, preferably in plaintiff-side personal injury
• Strong knowledge of Michigan court rules and e-filing procedures
• Experience managing litigation calendars and court deadlines
• Familiarity with the discovery process and litigation document preparation
