Maintenance Technician – Canned Coffee

Location: Manhattan, KS | Schedule: Full-time, 3rd Shift, Sunday - Thursday, 4/5pm start for an 8 or 10 hour shift, on-site
Overview
A food and beverage manufacturer specializing in canned coffee products is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day upkeep of production infrastructure and equipment. This role is critical to ensuring smooth, efficient operations as raw materials are converted into finished goods.
What you'll do
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of infrastructure and equipment used to produce canned coffee products
- Actively participate in efficient maintenance and changeover of equipment supporting the conversion of raw materials to finished goods
- Maintain operating knowledge of all equipment and processes, including updates to equipment or processes
- Work in both Wichita and Manhattan facilities as needed, with reliable transportation, and the ability to work long hours as needed
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of equipment
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment
- Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting
- Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems
- Read and interpret equipment manuals for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance
- Perform service and maintenance on auxiliary equipment such as chillers, heaters, dryers, grinders, and conveyors
- Stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl in tight spaces as needed
- Lift and move up to 100 lbs
Required qualifications
- Expert attention to detail
- A strong background in maintenance with 3 to 4 years related experience
- Ability to understand blueprints, schematic diagrams, and mechanical handbooks, along with creative problem-solving when solutions aren't documented
- Experience and knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Experience in production environment maintenance
- Ability to work well with others and fix issues in a timely manner
- Reliable transportation and ability to work at both Wichita and Manhattan facilities as needed
- Ability to work long hours as needed
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a food grade production environment preferred
- Ideally, some experience in all of the following areas, with major experience preferred in at least one: Industrial Electricity/Electronics, Pumps, Pipe Fitting/Plumbing, Machine Installation and Rigging, Conveyor Systems, HVAC Systems, Building Construction, and Shop Safety
