Overview
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of products for the electric utilities industry, opening a new production facility in Mocksville, North Carolina. They are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and help ensure a safe, high-quality, and productive manufacturing environment. Experience with injection molded plastics machinery is strongly preferred.
What you'll do
- Ensure customer requirements and expectations are accurately identified and met throughout production operations
- Supervise and hold production associates accountable to company policies, ensuring quality standards are consistently met with proper recordkeeping
- Provide training to staff on production processes, procedures, and quality controls, promoting knowledge transfer
- Direct, maintain, and enforce safety and quality programs within the production facility, fostering a culture of high standards
- Monitor and evaluate the operation of plant equipment and systems, minimizing non-conformance and anticipating potential issues
- Prepare reports and analyze data to recommend improvements in plant operations, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics
- Prioritize work orders and assist with technical troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment
- Ensure adherence to the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule and provide training as needed
- Source parts for planned maintenance and emergency repair activities
- Communicate operational procedures and safety requirements to operators and maintenance personnel, highlighting the importance of safe practices with complex systems
- Conduct incident, accident, and non-conformity investigations, implementing corrective actions to address root causes
- Collaborate with support groups to ensure necessary resources are available to meet operational requirements
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example, ensuring all team members understand expected behaviors and performance standards
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision with expertise in electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, PLCs, motors, pumps, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic circuit diagrams, and blueprints
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a maintenance team
- Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
Preferred qualifications
- Injection molded plastics machinery experience strongly preferred
- Technical degree or certification in electrical, hydraulics, or industrial maintenance is a plus
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus
