Label Designer/Technician – Barcode Printing

Overview
A manufacturing/logistics organization is seeking a Label Designer/Technician to design, manage, and troubleshoot label printing across the business. This role blends label design software expertise with barcode symbology and database integration skills, and is key to ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient labeling across departments.
What you'll do
- Design and create labels using CodeSoft and BarTender software for barcode labels, RFID tags, and general product labels
- Develop, maintain, and optimize label templates for consistent design and accuracy
- Connect label templates to SQL databases and manage data integration for labels
- Ensure labels comply with industry standards and regulations such as GS1, RFID, and FDA guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand labeling requirements and provide technical support
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to label design and printing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required qualifications
- Intermediate level experience with CodeSoft, BarTender and/or LabelMatrix software
- Beginner to intermediate level SQL programming skills
- Deep understanding of labeling processes in relevant industries (e.g., manufacturing, logistics)
- Experience with data entry, data formatting, and integrating data with labels
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to label design and printing
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GS1, SSCC)
Preferred qualifications
- Expert level experience with CodeSoft, BarTender, and/or LabelMatrix software preferred
- Experience automating label printing processes and integrating with ERP systems, Aspen Canopy
- Experience managing label design projects and ensuring deadlines are met
