Location: Greater Madison Area, WI (must reside within a 45-minute commute) | Schedule: Full-time, 2nd Shift, on-site | Compensation: $31.00/hour starting base rate + premium overtime (time-and-a-half after 8 daily hours and guaranteed double-time on Sundays) + full benefits package

Overview

A long-standing, well-established food processing manufacturer in the Greater Madison, WI area is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep its high-speed production lines running safely and efficiently. This is an opportunity to join a stable, non-political, team-oriented 2nd shift environment known for strong safety culture, quality tooling, and investment in employee training.

What you'll do

  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting, rapid fault-tracing, and emergency breakdown repairs on high-speed packaging equipment and processing cells
  • Troubleshoot, rebuild, and optimize conveyor networks, high-speed belts, sortation lines, gearboxes, and mechanical drive assemblies
  • Inspect, overhaul, and safely service high-pressure pneumatic systems, pneumatic valves, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and fluid distribution loops
  • Use MIG/TIG welding equipment to modify machinery frameworks, fabricate brackets, repair machine guards, and reinforce production components
  • Partner with floor leadership to ensure equipment and work areas comply with sanitation guidelines, safety protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Required qualifications

  • 1+ year of dedicated industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a fast-paced production setting, with core strength in hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic structural welding, torch cutting, and metal fitting for machinery repair applications
  • Full comfort working in a food-safe processing environment with a strict personal commitment to cleanliness, safety standards, and GMP compliance
  • Stable employment history with strong attendance, safety dedication, and teamwork
  • Residence within a 45-minute daily commute of the Greater Madison, WI area
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior background working inside a USDA, FDA, or SQF-regulated food processing or pharmaceutical manufacturing plant
  • Exposure to automated pouchers, shrink wrappers, cartoners, or rotary labeling equipment
  • Hands-on ability to wire AC motors, check fuses, and safely troubleshoot basic 24V/120V sensor circuits
