Location: Huntsville, AL | Schedule: Full-time, field-based (up to 50% travel) | Compensation: $35 – $60/hr (Level II), $65 – $75/hr (Level III), $75 – $85+/hr (Level IV)

Overview

A nationally recognized leader in electrical power services is seeking Field Service Technicians (Level II–IV) to perform acceptance and maintenance testing on medium- and high-voltage equipment across utility, industrial, and data center environments. This field-based role suits technically skilled professionals who value quality workmanship, operate with a safety-first mindset, and want to join a high-utilization team with a strong project pipeline.

What you'll do

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing per NETA standards on medium- and high-voltage equipment
• Test and troubleshoot switchgear (LV/MV), power transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays/protection systems
• Execute LOTO and safety procedures in compliance with NFPA 70E
• Conduct arc-flash and shock hazard evaluations as required
• Analyze test results and identify deficiencies
• Generate detailed field service reports and documentation
• Provide timely updates to management and clients on findings and project status
• Support or lead field crews depending on experience and certification level
• Mentor junior technicians and trainees as applicable
• Level II: execute testing under supervision while building technical foundation
• Level III: lead small crews and own portions of projects independently
• Level IV: serve as SME/Lead Tech with client-facing responsibilities, full project ownership, and mentorship of junior staff

Required qualifications

• 2–8+ years of electrical testing experience (range is level dependent)
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems
• Familiarity with NETA standards and NFPA 70E
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• One of the following: NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV), NICET EPT Certification (Level II, III, or IV), or strong hands-on apparatus testing experience in lieu of certification

Preferred qualifications

• NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV)
• OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid
• PowerDB proficiency
• OEM test equipment experience: Megger, Doble, Omicron, or similar

Compensation and benefits

• Level II (~2–4 yrs, NETA II/NICET EPT II or equivalent): $35 – $60/hr
• Level III (~5–8 yrs, NETA III/NICET EPT III or equivalent): $65 – $75/hr
• Level IV (8+ yrs, NETA IV/NICET EPT IV or equivalent): $75 – $85+/hr
• Per diem: ~$127/day (GSA rate)
• Company card or full expense reimbursement
• Travel covered: lodging, flights, rental car as applicable
• Overtime available depending on project scope
