Electrical Controls Design Engineer

Location: Tiffin, Ohio | Schedule: Full-time, on-site (Monday–Friday) | Compensation: Competitive base salary
Overview
An established, world-class manufacturing leader with a global customer base and a veteran engineering team is seeking an Electrical Controls Design Engineer to join its electrical design engineering group. This is a desk-based, on-site role supporting custom machinery projects, with the successful candidate reporting directly to the Electrical Design Engineering Manager.
What you'll do
- Partner with a Senior Engineer to learn products and processes
- Perform programmable logic controller (PLC) programming using Allen Bradley PLC platforms
- Manage multiple engineering projects and collaborate with mechanical engineers to complete machine design concepts
- Handle control panel and electrical hardware design
- Once trained, manage 1-6 design projects at a time
- Create bill of materials for design projects
- Make customized modifications to established designs
- Assist sales and customer service teams with technical electrical expertise related to customer needs and quotations
- Communicate with customers regarding equipment needs and preferences
- Perform other duties as directed by management
Required qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate's degree
- At least three years of experience performing similar engineering functions, depending on education
- PLC programming experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred
- VFD and servo control design experience
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs
- OEM or machine integrator experience
- Electrical design experience, including panels and panel layout
