Overview
A manufacturer in the Gallipolis, OH area is seeking a Design Engineer to join its electrical engineering team. This role will design, develop, and refine electrical components, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet performance, efficiency, and reliability goals.
What you'll do
- Create detailed designs for electrical components
- Build prototypes and run tests to validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and improve metrics such as efficiency, torque, and durability
- Partner with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to confirm designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards, and that product specifications meet or exceed expectations
- Prepare technical documentation
- Identify opportunities to enhance designs for improved efficiency, reduced weight, and lower production costs
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and environmental regulations
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 1-6 years of experience in design engineering
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in CAD software
