Location: Berlin, CT | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Monday thru Friday (Saturday if required), minimum 45 hour work week | Compensation: $30-$40/hour

Overview

An established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC 5-Axis Programmer to join its production team. This hands-on role is central to the company's machining operations, offering the chance to write and refine CNC programs while coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced shop environment.

What you'll do

  • Program 3, 4 and 5 Axis Mills using MasterCam
  • Read and interpret engineering prints, including GD&T
  • Develop and program work-holding fixtures and jaws
  • Select speeds, feeds, and tooling types appropriate for various materials
  • Read and understand G-code
  • Coordinate with the department lead on production scheduling to ensure smooth workflow
  • Effectively coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Support high mix, low volume production and prototyping parts
  • Fulfill quality system requirements as needed
  • Collaborate as part of a team, pitching in wherever needed

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a CNC 5-Axis Programmer
  • Proficiency with MasterCam for programming 3, 4 and 5 Axis Mills
  • Ability to read engineering prints and understand GD&T
  • Ability to read and understand G-code
  • Strong manufacturing knowledge and time management skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects
  • Computer skills and file format manipulation
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, follow routers, and use basic hand-held measuring tools
  • Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and twist as required to perform job duties
  • On site, hands-on duties required; non-remote position

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with high mix, low volume production/prototyping parts (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Siemens Control
  • Experience with CamPlete Verification Software

Compensation and benefits

  • $30-$40 per hour, hourly position
  • Full-Time, minimum 45 Hour Work Week, Monday thru Friday (Saturday if required)
  • On site position, non-remote
