Overview
An industrial equipment service provider is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-precision CNC metal-cutting machines, including CNC milling, grinding, measuring, and automation systems. This remote-based role combines onsite and remote customer support and plays a key part in keeping customers' CNC equipment running smoothly.
What you'll do
- Install, configure, maintain, and repair CNC machine tools and automation systems
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for CNC machine tools
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, hardware, and basic networking issues
- Troubleshoot CNC controls, machine-control computers, monitoring systems, and related components
- Replace computer components and complete system configurations and repairs
- Assist customers with CNC machine operation and technical questions
- Document service activities, repairs, findings, and recommended follow-up actions
- Escalate complex CNC machine issues to engineering and technical support teams
- Travel to customer facilities for CNC machine installations, repairs, training, and service calls (up to 60%)
Required qualifications
- Field service or technical support experience with CNC machine tools, metal-cutting equipment, or industrial automation
- Strong mechanical, electrical, computer hardware, and software troubleshooting skills
- Experience with CNC controls, machine-control computers, or industrial monitoring systems
- Ability to replace computer components, configure systems, and provide basic networking support
- Technical education or certification in CNC machining, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, information technology, or a related field
- Ability to work independently, prioritize service needs, and maintain accurate documentation
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer facilities as required (up to 60%)

- Manufacturing or CNC machining experience preferred
