Physical Therapist – Outpatient

Overview

A premier health organization in the Finger Lakes region is seeking an experienced Outpatient Physical Therapist to join its supportive clinic-based team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver orthopedic and general outpatient rehabilitation care, guiding patients through their full recovery process in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

What you'll do

  • Conduct initial evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Administer therapeutic treatments including exercises, manual therapy, modalities (ultrasound, heat/ice therapy, electrical stimulation), and patient education
  • Educate patients on exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to meet rehabilitation goals
  • Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries per departmental policies and industry standards
  • Provide patient education to empower individuals in managing rehabilitation and preventing future injuries
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines

Required qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Physical Therapist license in the state at time of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care for orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance; requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving patients during treatment
  • Physical Therapists on an F1 student visa with OPT work authorization are encouraged to apply and will be considered

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience in outpatient physical therapy settings is preferred
  • Interest in pelvic health is a plus (two openings available)
