Location: Petersburg, Virginia (on-site, relocation provided) | Schedule: Full-time | Compensation: Approximately $100,000-$120,000 (depending on experience)

Overview

An established industrial manufacturer operating in an ITAR-regulated environment is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead its Quality Management System and serve as the primary quality representative to customers worldwide. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, ISO compliance, and manufacturing excellence, partnering closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to strengthen quality performance across the organization.

What you'll do

• Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System
• Maintain ISO 9001 compliance
• Lead customer audits and certification audits
• Serve as the primary quality contact for customers
• Drive customer satisfaction initiatives
• Lead corrective actions and root cause investigations
• Reduce scrap and improve manufacturing yields
• Analyze quality KPIs and implement improvements
• Improve supplier quality
• Supervise Quality Technicians and Inspectors
• Support APQP, PPAP and new product launches
• Promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Partner with Engineering and Production to improve processes
• Maintain quality documentation and records

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive Quality Management experience within manufacturing
• Experience managing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
• Experience leading customer audits and certification audits
• Strong knowledge of root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA)
• Experience with SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans and Lean Manufacturing
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Excellent customer communication skills
• Experience supervising Quality Technicians and Inspectors
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or related technical discipline preferred
• Must work in an ITAR environment and be a US Citizen; no sponsorship or work visas available

Preferred qualifications

• Automotive manufacturing, aerospace, or similar regulated manufacturing environment experience
• IATF 16949 experience
• ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE Certification
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
• ISO Lead Auditor Certification
• Experience working directly with demanding OEM or international customers

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range approximately $100,000-$120,000, depending on experience
