Overview
An established veterinary products manufacturer is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive business growth within a defined territory. This individual contributor role (no direct reports) is responsible for building relationships with distributor representatives and veterinarians to ensure proper use and adoption of the company's veterinary product line across a multi-state region.
What you'll do
- Manage a sales territory covering Northern Colorado (including Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Boulder, mountain towns west of Denver, and Grand Junction) and East/Middle Wyoming (including Cheyenne, Casper, and Gillette), specifically zip code regions CO 805, 803, 815, 806, 804 and WY 820, 827, 826
- Ride along with and provide product and technical training to veterinary distributor representatives and OTC representatives
- Support new product launches by ensuring call centers are trained and equipped with necessary customer support materials
- Visit veterinarian offices to sell products, providing detailed information, samples as needed, and educational lunch-and-learn seminars
- Communicate with distributor representatives and schedule dinner meetings
- Coordinate with the Technical Service Team to arrange meetings with key staff at assigned veterinary schools, and host symposiums and lectures for veterinary students
- Visit veterinary schools within the assigned region to communicate school pricing updates and new product information
- Manage a yearly budget for marketing activities supporting product launches and sustained field presence
- Provide timely, informative reports to the home office regarding industry trends and changes
- Perform other assigned duties as needed to meet company objectives
- Communicate effectively with other departments and work collaboratively within a team environment
Required qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with emphasis on MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 1 year of sales/marketing experience, or 3 years' experience working within a veterinary hospital
Preferred qualifications
- Veterinary manufacturer or animal health industry experience desired
- Ideally based north of Denver
